Grossenbacher ran a farm in Hindelbank. In his spare time he hiked, was interested in geography and liked to tinker. He combined this in the hobby of building reliefs. He created a total of three reliefs: one of the canton of Ticino, one of the region of Hindelbank and one of Krauchtal.
