Ernst Lautenschlager (1914–2000) [1]

Lautenschlager, who was born in Basel, took up a position as curator of the natural history collections at the Mathematics and Natural Science High School in Basel at the age of 20. He provided suitable illustrative material for the biology lessons. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time in the mountains and, among other things, made numerous mountain and ski tours with colleagues from the Swiss Alpine Club. He also sculpted a relief of his favorite area, the Maderanertal, in his spare time.
