Charles Marie Eugène Delagrave (1842–1934) [1]

Born in Paris, Delagrave took over a small publishing house in 1865 that had been founded in 1839 and grew considerably under his leadership. He specialized in educational publications – which included terrain models – and published important standard works. He was also present at several world exhibitions and won gold medals with his products. As a member of the Geographical Society of Paris, he also published numerous works of its members – such as cartographic publications by Levasseur – and of the Paris Geographical Institute. In 1996, the publishing house was taken over by Flammarion.
